Covid-19/ Updated announcement on restriction for travelers from Afghanistan to Turkey (for Afghan citizens studying in Turkey or residence/work permit holders)
Afghanistan citizens who are traveling to Turkey for higher education will be subjected to the mantadory quarantine in Kanuni Sultan Süleyman KYK dormitory in Istanbul or Tahsin Banguoğlu KYK dormitory in Ankara, on the condition that they submit either a valid student ID document relating to higher education in Turkey or the acceptance letter of the related university. This student will be exempted from quarantine in paid hotels.
Afghan students studying at universities based in provinces other than Istanbul or Ankara will only be able to travel to the provinces where their registered universities are located after the end of their quarantine period in KYK dormitories in Istanbul or Ankara.
Afghan citizens who have residence or work permit in Turkey will be subjected to quarantine at their place of residence instead of hotels, on the condition that they submit valid residence or work permit. Passengers whose first entry points is not Istanbul or Ankara will be allowed to travel to their place of residence only by private vehicles and they will not be allowed to board domestic flights or use public transportation.
