No: 56, 24 February 2018, Press Release regarding the declaration of the United States Administration to move its Embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in May

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 24.02.2018

The declaration of the United States Administration to move its Embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in May reveals that the U.S. insists on undermining the foundations of peace by disregarding the international law, resolutions of United Nations Security Council on Jerusalem and the established UN parameters.

Unfortunately, the U.S. exhibits that it does not hear, and worse still, does not care about the voice of international community’s conscience, as reflected in the Final Communique of OIC Extraordinary Summit in İstanbul and subsequently on the resolution of UN General Assembly.

In response to this highly worrisome decision of the United States, Turkey will sustain its efforts, together with the vast majority of international community, to safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
