As per his consultations with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Germany, NATO Secretary General is contributing to facilitate the visit of a German Parliamentary Delegation to the German troops serving at the NATO AWACS Mission at Konya Airbase, under a NATO framework, as stated by NATO Acting Spokesperson.

The visit is planned to take place on 8 September as a NATO activity with the participation of a high level NATO official. Deliberations on the details of the visit as well as the ensuing steps are underway within NATO.

Turkey continues to provide substantial contributions for the successful conduct of all NATO operations and missions. Our position with regard to the visit, as part of a NATO delegation, of the German Parliamentarians to the German troops serving at the NATO AWACS Mission at Konya Airbase has been determined against this background.
