We learned with regret that Mr. Lucas Papademos, Former Prime Minister of Greece, was injured as a result of an explosion that took place in his car yesterday (25 May) in Athens. We strongly condemn this heinous attack against Mr. Papademos. Turkey will continue its resolute stance against all kinds of terrorism irrespective of their origin or goal and in this context pursue its cooperation with Greece.
We wish speedy recovery to former Prime Minister Mr. Papademos, who does not have a life threatening condition and is currently in the hospital according to the information we have, as well as to others who were in the car during the explosion.
