We condemn the submarine-launched ballistic missile test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on 24 August 2016. This launch, which constitutes yet another violation of DPRK’s international obligations, is the fourth ballistic missile launch carried out in the last two months.

Persistance in continuing such ballistic missile launches are clearly not conducive to assuring peace and stability in the region.

We call upon the DPRK once again to cease its ballistic missile launches threatening regional, as well as international security and stability and to fully comply with its international obligations under relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
