The Turkey-EU Ministerial Political Dialogue Meeting will be held on 25 January 2016 in Ankara with the participation of H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Ambassador Volkan Bozkır, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, and from the EU side, Ms. Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission and Mr. Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.

In the Turkey-EU Summit Joint Declaration of 29 November 2015, the sides had emphasized the importance of increasing high-level dialogue and agreed upon holding Summits twice a year with a view to regularly exchanging views and strengthening cooperation.

In this regard, the Turkey-EU Ministerial Political Dialogue Meeting will be a preparation for the second Turkey-EU Summit. During the meeting, the sides will exchange views on Turkey-EU relations, in particular Turkey’s accession process, as well as current regional and international issues. They will also discuss opportunities for carrying forward the comprehensive cooperation in various fields between Turkey and the EU.
