Statement of the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tanju Bilgiç in Response to a Question Regarding the News about the G-20 Agenda Published in a Newspaper

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 09.11.2015

QA-27, 9 November 2015

It has been claimed in a news item published in today’s Cumhuriyet newspaper (November 9th) that H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey proposed to include the terrorism and refugee issues in the agenda of the G-20 Leaders’ Summit to be held on 15-16 November in Antalya; however, certain G-20 member countries objected to this proposal and for this reason, it has still not been possible to announce the programme of the Summit.

The agenda of the G-20 Leaders’ Summit to be hosted by Turkey in Antalya has been determined a while ago and shared with the participating countries. Upon the proposal of President H.E.Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the terrorism and refugee issues have also been included in the agenda. G-20 countries did not raise any objection or reservation to the inclusion of these items, and they welcomed the agenda and programme prepared by Turkey.

Therefore the allegations reported in the said newspaper are imaginary and do not reflect the actual situation.
