H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will represent Turkey at the Fourth CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia) Heads of State and Government Summit on 20-21 May 2014 in Shanghai. The meeting will provide an important opportunity for the member states to review developments in the CICA process and to reflect on ways and means for its further enhancement.

At the Third CICA Summit held in Istanbul in June 2010, Turkey assumed the Chairmanship for a period of two years. Turkey’s Chairmanship in CICA which comprises 26 member states, 7 observer states and 4 observer international organizations was subsequently extended by the member states for another two years (2012-2014). Turkey will hand over the Chairmanship that it has carried out for four years to the People’s Republic of China at the Shanghai Summit.
